Lakey/Laidlaw Wedding

My good friend Shannon Lakey is married!!! The past few days have been a whirlwind of activity, as I was honored to be one of the bridesmaids. To say the least, I am exhausted! Thank the Lord Warren and his parents have stepped up to the plate big time in taking over around the house and with the kids. But we did skip church this morning, and after Warren changed the boys diapers they pummeled me in bed! It was great!!!

Today, we do nothing. :)

Here is one photo of Warren and I last night during the Father/Daughter dance. Father put his hand on my belly. So sweet!!!

Someday Jacqueline will be dancing with her Daddy!

Boys Day at the Astros

Sunday Warren took his dad and both boys to the Astros game. I have to say, I am impressed with their outing! I think that was the first day the boys had both skipped their naps. Supposedly they did fine without them. So yeah, since Daddy knows some secret I don't, maybe he should take them out all day more often... :)

Is it just me, or does he suddenly look bigger?!

You are supposed to think this is funny. Says Cameron.

And the Astros beat the Nationals 5-0. Go Stros!!!
Boys even got to see the train in action.

Doctors Visits

This morning was Landon's 1 year well baby. While I am excited about this milestone, I am savoring little moments of my cuddle-bug still being there - a baby... That it is still easier for him to rolly polly around sometimes instead of sit up and zip away. That onesies are still the norm. That he has more gaps than teeth. That he ga-gas and ma-mas and and we get excited at signs (milk, more, and all gone). That he has white tan lines where the sun never reaches the depths of his olive skin fat rolls. And his giggle is still for sure a baby giggle. I can bury my face in those fat rolls and make it happen any time I want.

But dang, that baby is 29lbs! When we weighed him today I was actually a bit surprised - I thought for sure he was heavier. He is 31.5 inches long.

So of course I am curious about comparing to Cameron. At 13 months, Cameron was 24lbs 7oz, and was 32.5 inches. So a full inch taller, and 5lbs lighter! I kept digging, and at his 2year checkup, he had grown 4 more inches but was still only 28lbs!!! So yeah, Cameron is trending towards Daddy (tall and skinny) and Landon is looking like a McKenzie (not so tall and not so skinny).

And our tie breaker??? I need some cute little pink bow images here! This afternoon Warren and I both went to the OB for our 3rd trimester ultrasound. Little girl Cliff is doing great! She weighs about 3lbs. 7oz. which apparantly is a just tad above average. Average birth weight being 7lbs, and both boys were 9lbs, so a tad above is just fine by me.

We got kind of a good look at her face, which maybe you can pick out from the above photo. I am thinking she might look more like Landon. In the photo, you see sort of her profile - she is looking to the right side of the photo. Those bones belong to her arm from elbow to wrist. Everything else looks good - she is "in position" and just needs to cook for 8 more weeks. Which is crazy. So soon! But exciting. We can't wait to meet her.

Fourth of July

We thought the best place to view the fireworks might be from the top of the parking garage next to Warren's new office building in The Woodlands.

This plan will be modified next year.

After we parked the car in our super-duper-primo spot on the top of the garage, we realized we didn't really want to sit up there in the heat waiting for everyone else to get there. With still 2 hours till the show, we walked over to the mall.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We stopped at some fountains along the way and blew bubbles. Turns out, Cameron likes bubbles a *lot* more than fireworks this year.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Omi with Landon. Landon was enthralled! And we were right, the view was great and worth the wait. For most of us. Cameron kind of had a melt down, which is weird because he has always enjoyed the fireworks. I guess this year he understood the danger more? Not sure. But he did not approved. At. All. Bring back the bubbles. Oh, well...

The rest of us were impressed!
Happy 233rd birthday, America!

Landon's First Birthday Party

Landon's party was at our local Woodlands pool in Harpers Landing. Our pool theme included a beach ball cake and pool toys. I think all the kids had a good time. His birthday is actually July 2, which will probably fall around the 4th of July weekends, so in the future we might have to celebrate on another weekend in July! Learn as we go...

Landon's name has already been modified. I wonder...could those little Cam hands at the top of the photo have anything to do with it? Isn't the cake cute?! Shout out to Lindy!

The cake smash!

This kid knew exactly what to do!
I think Cameron had been coaching him behind my back...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Look at that hand dig!
I was secretly mortified.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

He loved it!

Cameron had fun too! With Gramma and Grampa Cliff.

Time to go through the wash!
~~~~~~
This was funny - he found the fountains at the splashpad by himself, and he loved it! Thanks to everyone that came out to our little party. Husbands and fathers and Opas, sorry you missed out on photo ops! We appreciate everything that you guys have done to support us this past year. Landon is blessed to have you in his life.
Happy FIRST Birthday Landon!!!!
I made a little "mommy" homemade cake for Landon today, and we let him have his first taste of icing for breakfast. It went really well...it prepped him for the big cake on Friday and it prepped Mommy for the big mess. Cos yea, this is nothing!
Wa-la!!! With one candle!
He did so well with the whole thing - he is even yawning in this photo with the razor at his ear! I am so proud of him. We had a great first haircut and first birthday.
Movie Date with Cameron
Today Cameron and I went to see Madagascar 2. Tinseltown in The Woodlands was showing it to children for $1! So while the theater was a bit crazy, it was an appropriate crowd for Cameron and we had a lot of fun.
We arrived early thinking the crowds would be crazy...but not so much! Not yet anyway.
One excited customer!
So, um, yea. I had Cameron's shirt buttoned wrong all day.
How very un-colby. Is he pointing that out in this photo?
