Guilty Mom Confession

A friend of mine has bad-mom-confession blog posts, and I think that is great great idea! So here I go.

#1: Sometimes, if my kids have a dirty diaper before bathtime, I leave the diaper on them. Even through dinner.

#2: Daddy doesn't know this, but when I am changing the sheets, I let the boys jump on the beds. I think that may have caused some confusion...

#3: If Cameron doesn't want his food, I scrape it off on Landon's plate. Landon always wants more.

#4: My kids think vitamins are candy. Cause that's what I call it. And, sometimes Mommy's "crackers" are really cookies. Cause that's what I call it.

#5: If Jacqueline doesn't finish a bottle, I put it in the fridge for later. I think that might be bad. But hey, formula is expensive and I'm still buying diapers for three. See confession #1.

Barbara's Bluebonnets

Just in case I thought taking cute bluebonnet pictures with 3 kids wouldn't be enough of a challenge, we had much more in store for us this year! First of all, finding a decent field of flowers was not easy... My friend Shannon and I drove out with our kids to the spot that worked for us last year, but this year there were NO flowers. Weird, right? There were generally few flowers everywhere. But we drove around a bit, and saw this field...behind some heavily barbed wires.

BUT, right next to the threatening fence was a little shack that had a cute sign: "Barbara's Hair Salon". Promising. SO, I walked on up to the main house and rang Barbara's door and asked permission to sneak into her field. She was super nice! And I think pleased to have her door rung. She showed us where the gate was, and told me her dog was very friendly. She did not, however, warn us about the horse.

He was as friendly as Barbara, especially if you consider poop a gift. Landon stepped right into a very warm, fresh batch. Wearing crocs. So at least they have been easy to clean. But it must have been very unpleasant to walk around in that ooze. Good thing it wasn't Cameron who stepped in it!!! The trip would have been O. VER.

Landon way out in a field. Not sure why he is sitting - we didn't pose him. Cute!

This is Katie! I love this photo of her. Poor thing got nabbed by the barb on our way out. Heal quickly!!! They are going to South Padre this weekend, and sunscreen with sand doesn't mix well with scratches.

My happy girl. Heart.

The Cliffs 3! The Texas countryside is no match for us!

(Sorry, Barbara, for the amount of bluebonnets that were picked!)

7 Acre Wood

Yay for Xena's Birthday Party!!! Cameron's friend Xena had her birthday at 7 Acre Wood. I have heard so much about this place, but had never been. Oh my gosh you guys, it's fantastic!!!!! We are definitely going back soon! We could easily spend all day there. It is basically this huge playground with so many things to do!!! Seven acres of things to do!

Cameron with his present for Xena.

On the boat. A real one.
~~~~~~~~~
Chasing around chickens. They have lots of animals there, which Cameron loved of course. I think it's neat how the chickens and goats all roam around wherever they want. There were also ponies and cats with kittens and bunny rabbits. And probably a dog.
Hayride!
Hugging the birthday girl.
Bounce house!
Put put with goats. He was a big help.
Cameron went around the put put course 4 times!!!! But refused the zip line...
Jacqueline's Baptism
Sunday April 11 Jacqueline was baptized! We decided to put the boys into the nursery that morning so we could just be with Baby J. She doesn't get one on one attention very often. This particular morning she had the complete adoration of both parents and 3 grandparents! She would have had more, but Opa was too sick to fly and her Godparents were kept away because of their own sick baby. But lots and lots of people love you, Jacqueline. And are trusting God for an abundant life for you.
I love this photo!!! Standing up with Daddy.
Jacqueline playing with Grandma's fun toy she wears around her neck! Careful, there, Grandpa...it almost looks like you are smiling in a photo...
"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says the LORD." At the Car Wash
Well, our driveway, actually. The pollen has been so bad around here Warren has been washing our cars at home a little more often. Which the boys love!!! Cameron loves it, anyway. Landon loves it, as long as he doesn't get sprayed with the hose. This kinda surprised us both - that Cameron would love getting all wet and crazy, but Landon wanted to stay dry. If you wanna watch the long video, you will see what I mean!
Warren: "Someday you are going to do this instead of me."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Cameron: "I can't wait to do this every week for my Mommy!" (I can dream, right?)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Landon: "Washing cars? Just let me play ball!"
Happy Easter!
It has taken me a few days...but finally we have Easter photos! We went to a few Easter Egg Hunts over the past couple weekends, and here are the best shots. We had so much fun! But let me tell you, I have not seen such competitiveness from my two boys till I saw them with eggs!!! Kinda sad, actually. I can only imagine what next year will bring.
J with her Daddy. And the bow that Mommy made(!). Good thing she got some use out of it, too. One of her brothers already tore the sweet little bunny rabbit off.
Cameron carefully eating his cookie. That I decorated for him. Under his specific instructions.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Landon not so carefully eating his cookie. That he frosted. What instructions?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I managed to photo the one moment they sat down together with egg chalks.
~~~~~~~~~~~

Cameron finding an egg. This is the first thing he remembers from the previous year's experiences. So great to see memories forming and building!!! Being a Mom is fabulous fun!

Loot: Part I

We also went to the Easter Egg Hunt at our church. FIELDS of candy and eggs. Here are the boys with Loot: Part II. (Yes, these are the same buckets we used for Halloween. Will work on that.)

Next year, Baby J...

Soccer Tot

Warren has been waiting on this day for years...and has been telling Cameron about it since the day he was born. He is finally taking his son to practice!!! He carefully selected the right size (extra small) shin guards. The kind where they come in the socks already - cute, right? The whole thing is cute. Warren's excitement, Cameron's willingness and enthusiasm, even Landon's resentment. The class is actually kinda small, and *very* basic, and pretty perfect, it turns out.

Waiting to go in! My Godmother Bobbie sent Cameron this t-shirt. She lives in Cameron, Texas. He refuses to wear anything else to practice.
~~~~~~~
Stretching. (!)
~~~~~~~~

Jumping Jacks. (!!)
~~~~~~~~
Running laps. (!!!)
~~~~~~~

If Warren hadn't brought me back these photos I would not have believed that Cameron was the one who most consistently followed directions. He really did so good!!! And apparently loves soccer!!!
So yeah, being a soccer mom rocks.
